What's the ethos behind the Content by Conran brand?
At Conran we have a very simple philosophy – that good design gives you pleasure and improves the quality of all our lives through products, buildings or interiors that work well, are affordable and look beautiful. We are experienced designers; our real talent is creating a style of life that people will enjoy, providing them with the products and environments that will help them realise this. We are creating design to improve the quality of your life through modern contemporary furniture. Our furniture is a relaxed and informal range of British designed furniture for contemporary living designed by Terence and his team. The collection is comfortable, simple and uses natural, authentic materials that look better and better over time. We believe thoughtful design really does improve the quality of our lives.

Where do you look to find inspiration for new collections?
Sir Terence’s home is a centre of creative energy and so are the people which surround him and those he works with. His house is a window into the outside world: of design, travel, art and history. His family, friends and employees are all creative sources in themselves and form a universe of creativity that ignite the process that stimulates his creativity.

What would you consider to be the hero product from the current collection and why?
Our Balance shelving range is an extraordinary furniture range. It is a classic and we consider it to be the hero in our collection. The Duke and Duchess are new armchairs in our collection of contemporary furniture and together with the new Moon fabrics can take centre stage in any interior, as well as blend in as a subtle piece of timeless classic design.
