Ines Cole
Reinventing and restyling a product into something that is beyond its original use.

mydeco.com in conversation with Ines Cole.

What's the ethos behind your brand?
At Ines Cole we reinvent vintage found items giving them new purpose for the modern-day, style conscious home. Our original, designed vintage pieces are handcrafted and unique, each with their own aged character and story.

Who is your favourite designer and why?
Tom Dixon and Jasper Morrison are contemporary designers I really admire, but I tend to focus more on the product than the designer. With my passion for vintage some of my favourites are the timeless classics like the Bestlite Lamp by Robert Dudley Best, Xavier Pauchard's Tolix chairs and the Jielde lamp by Jean-Louis Domecq.

Where do you find your inspiration for your new collections?
My inspiration can come from anywhere, it's all about finding an item and reinventing and restyling it into something beyond its original use.

Where did your love for vintage furniture stem from, and how do you source your pieces?
When working as an interior designer I would source items from antique and vintage suppliers and developed a love for blending the old within a modern setting. Our vintage items are sourced from markets all over Europe and I also look to complement our collection with artisan-created and recycled products.

Whose home would you most like to look inside?
Ilse Crawford's

What do you like most about mydeco and which product from the site would you most like to have in your home?
It's a fabulous platform for emerging brands and designer/makers like us. The site is so user friendly and brings niche stores offering something a little bit different into one destination for the design-led buyer. With a weakness for lamps I am definitely coveting the Grasshopper floor lamp by Gubi.
