Celebrity chef and healthy eating campaigner Jamie Oliver has launched a stylish new collection of kitchen products. mydeco went along to the launch where Jamie cooked, chatted and most definitely charmed his products into our kitchens.
Jamie isn’t one of those pretentious celeb chefs who look down their noses and throw carrot peel at us common folk who still can't help but scramble an omelette. Luckily for us, the aim of his new kitchen kit is to ‘make cooking just that little bit easier’ for novice and experienced cooks alike. And all of his gadgets and utensils have the added bonus of very practical and helpful features that he found lacking in existing products.
1. Speedy peely
When mydeco asked which his favourite product in the collection is, he immediately said his speed peeler (£11.74). ‘I’m really excited about what the interchangeable heads can allow even a crap cook to do’ he explained. Thanks Jamie! If it’s as magical as he made out we may all become his main competition... His speed peeler has three interchangeable blades – vegetable, soft fruit and julienne – and he demonstrated its efficiency peeling for his salmon and pear salad. He said: ‘I’m always passionate about my speed peeler. Immediately food has a crafted and delicate look with the julienne.’ As we know, in the food world presentation is just as important as taste.
