Glamour was glorified in the 1940s and 50s in the films and lifestyles of the stars and starlets. Glamour is all about luxury with touches of drama and sparkle, but the blank canvas for this styling should be light and airy, then laden with rich textures and reflective surfaces to give a dreamy feel of romance and sophistication. It’s an ideal look for a bedroom!

Choose jewel tones or whites, creams, beiges - try to stay away from earthy tones. From our Sanderson paint mix ranges (available in our shops), I’d suggest these champagne and natural shades: A15 Oyster White Lt 4.14P A15 Dusky White 4.13P A14 Cameo White 4.7P or these warmer neutrals in ivory and cream shades: A20 Manilla Beige 5.19P A18 Soft Ivory 5.7P A18 Pale Parchment Lt 5-8P
There’s so much choice today with patterned, textured or even metallic wallpapers, and it’s really become fashionable again. Glamour can be added using an iridescent finish, or maybe using a textured wallpaper for a real sense of luxury – take a look at Osborne & Little’s Quartz range (in our shops), or Japanese-inspired Kimiko from Harlequin, or Opaline Damask from Zoffany.
