You have to agree that the President of Zambia, Rupiah Banda, is an unlikely toilet seat, right? Well a cheeky monkey didn’t think so as he spent a penny in the President’s jacket pocket mid-speech during a press conference yesterday!

The monkey was in a tree outside the State Office when he decided to relieve himself, urinating onto the unsuspecting President who was sat directly below him.

He saw the funny side, laughing while he told the monkey ‘You have urinated on my jacket’ and then joking with the journalists that he would ‘give this monkey for lunch to Mr Sata’, the opposition leader he defeated in last year’s election.

I’m sure his pocket was a tailored and expensive piece of fabric but I can think of much nicer materials - not to mention places - to relieve myself!

Take a look at mydeco’s Top ten...funky loo seats if you fancy something different when nature calls.

Monkeys are renowned for setting up home in the trees outside the President’s State Office, where the press conference was held on 23 June. Before he continued with the conference, which focussed on reassuring Zambians over the current financial economic downturn, Banda looked up at the monkey and said: ‘Perhaps these are blessings.’

There are not any known superstitions in Zambia that link monkey pee to good fortune and let’s hope it doesn’t catch on!

Personally, I’d rather just get a fortune cookie with a Chinese!

To see the President's reaction, go on the BBC website and watch their aptly named video.
