Home offices transform work-life balance

Home office furniture and accessories can help people looking to rebalance their professional and personal lives work remotely.

According to The Independent, it is possible for most people to work from home with 'minimal effort', so long as they have a spare room, cupboard, corner or some other space that can be designated to work.

Whether you have a dedicated room to use as an office or plan to work out of little more than desks or wardrobes, the newspaper suggests that the most important thing is to create a space that you are willing to spend time.

Whatever this means in terms of interior design, some factors to consider include investing in a comfortable chair, proper lighting (particularly if you will be using a computer screen) and storage solutions.

Design expert Nina Campbell suggested to The Independent that people should consider painting their home office space 'in restful colours', such as neutral creams, blues and greens.

'More than anything, a home office should be a place for proper focus, so should be kept free of distracting elements wherever possible,' she added.
