Frank Lloyd Wright Lego kits released

Kids could be encouraged to take up a career in architecture or design thanks to a new set of Lego Architecture kits including famous buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The line was officially introduced in an exhibition last year and will now go on sale to the public.

Currently, it includes six buildings; Wright's Solomon R Guggenheim Museum in New York and Fallingwater in Pennsylvania among them.

The other buildings in the range are the Sears Tower, the John Hancock Centre, the Empire State Building and the Seattle Space Needle.

Adam Reed Tucker of Brickstructures, who designed the new sets in partnership with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, said: 'Mr Wright's buildings are a treasure trove of possibilities.

'I wanted to create these marvellous buildings for years, so I'm thrilled to be working with the foundation in order to include Mr Wright's timeless buildings in this series, which conceptualises the very essence of each building in Lego bricks.'

Mr Wright designed the Guggenheim Museum 50 years ago and is considered by many to be the 'greatest American architect of all time'.
