"The honourable Kirstie Allsopp" (1971-, British) as she could choose to be known, is the daughter of former Christie’s chairman Lord Hindlip and interior designer Fiona Victoria Jean Atherley McGowan. Kirstie is commonly considered the posh woman on the TV property scene.
What’s she famous for?
Being a beacon of light for regular folk trying to move up the property ladder. After working as a decorator’s assistant and stints on Country Living and Food & Homes magazines, she came into the public conscience sharing her expertise via Channel 4 shows, Location, Location, Location; Relocation, Relocation; Location Revisited & The Property Chain.
Anything else?
She also has her finger in the property industry pie with co-presenter and business partner, Phil Spencer, with whom she works at property search company, Garrington Home Finders. She hates HIPS (Home Information Packs) and is all for first-time buyers getting on the property ladder with friends, because, as she poignantly observes, our living patterns have changed and owning your property is important to securing your future.
