Forget doilies and net curtains – lacy has gone racy this season, on the catwalk and in the home. Find out what the experts think about this edgy new trend. Lace up!

1. So out of fashion it’s in

For designers on the cutting edge, ‘there’s no better time than when an art form has fallen out of fashion to bring it back in,’ says interiors expert Margie Borschke. Trying to make dowdy old lace hip was such a daring move that it became instantly cool. And now it's everywhere. These Tea Light holders (£2.70) from Graham & Green are a shining example. Light the candles and see the pretty patterns dance across your walls.

The gothic alarm clocks are gorgeous - very stylish and never an excuse to be late for work again! I love the coasters too, and oh so purse-friendly.

I love the lace tealights by Graham & Green and also the Stella Felt Rug .I think framing some lace in a picture frame would look nice too.

Oh lovely! I have always adored lace. Wish I could afford to cover my house in it! Found some lovely vintage stuff on Portobello road but it was very expensive - so these alternatives are very welcomed.. x
